As temperatures begin to decline and fall leaves show their brilliance our teachers are hard at work teaching lessons in the garden. Our gardens follow the seasonal suit and begin to slow down giving the rest of what they have left to our children. Once the lessons have wrapped up the community comes together to prepare the gardens for winter.
Winterization is a final componentto our Garden To Table program in which we harvest the remaining food, remove annual plants, and amend the soil in preparation for next year. So far this season we have had incredible community and school participation! Many thanks Boulder Brands, Elevations, Lowe’s, Snooze, AIM House, CU students, Growe Board members, and all of our parent and individual volunteers!
If your school has not winterized yet and you would like to help out, please reach out to us or your parent lead for specific information. Cheers and happy fall!
