Board of Directors
The Growe Foundation is fortunate to have a diversified board of community leaders as trustees of the organization. The following individuals bring skills, knowledge, community involvement, and the capacity to mentor positive qualities for children.
Bryce Winton Brown was educated as an engineer and later worked as a management consultant for hospitals in America. Working in healthcare settings, he saw first-hand the disturbing trends with children’s health and the risks associated with environmental problems. In naming the organization, Bryce wanted to unite people in support of children living healthy and sustainable lives. He has lived in Boulder County for twelve years and has volunteered for five years with Voices for Children, where he worked with abused and neglected children.
Phil Anson is a father, gastronome and the founder and COO of Boulder-based EVOL Burritos — a nationally distributed brand of made-from-scratch frozen burritos. As a gardener, and experienced chef, Phil brings his garden-to-table philosophy and strong ethic of environmental and social sustainability to food manufacturing. Through EVOL Burritos, Phil is educating the industry and consumers all over the country about social responsibility and the connection between eating and the environment. With Phil’s leadership, EVOL Burritos is setting the pace for the industry by composting, recycling and purchasing Wind-e Renewable energy credits with the dream of one day becoming a zero-waste company. Phil has lived in Boulder for 10 years and feels his primary mission in life is be a great father, by nurturing and caring for his family as he does his backyard garden. Phil hopes to encourage, motivate and teach children in the community to follow in his footsteps and develop a passion for food and environmental sustainability.
